We’ve been busy since our last posting!

Not to be daunted by one of the hottest summers on record our team on the Loop have had a busy few months.

If you are on this page then you will see we have launched a brand new website developed by Karen Brook Studios (KBS). Please take a moment to browse around, we would love to know what you think.  We are delighted with the finished product and the ability to better engage with our visitors and connect through social media. With a dedicated gallery and events section on the website, we hope that you will find lots of interesting things to see and do when you next travel The Outback Loop. We also invite you to join us as a Friend of The Outback Loop by signing up to receive our regular news, updates and promotions direct to your inbox. We are also in the process of building an online souvenir shop which will be launched in the next couple of weeks allowing you to ‘shop’ for the perfect gift. There will be shirts, caps, stubby coolers and bar mats for sale online.

If you are passing by Innamincka perhaps you’ll be keen to have a hit on the Minimincka golf course – or go cruising with Tony on the Cooper.  Or perhaps just sit back at the pub and share a yarn with Irish Andy who is back with us for another season.  Head chef Rob is cooking up a storm, rumour has it that he will be making his own sausages this year  – whatever the case Rob loves to cook and aims to please.  Managers, Jill and Greg Ross, have celebrated their first year in the outback and will look forward to meeting you and sharing your story.

Birdsville has an addition to the skyline – the bulk storage Jet Fuel tank is in place so whilst this may only interest pilots it is worthy of mention as the form work and placement of the tank happened during the extreme heat during January and February.

Manager, Kate McDonald powers on after winning “Young Achiever” at the 2012 Outback Queensland Awards and is assisted in her role by Kim and Gus Daffy and Duty Manager, Steve Kinny.

Award winning Chef Miranda heads off to have her baby and we welcome Chef Tim to our Birdsville team.

You’ll see some familiar faces in the Birdsville line up – Joan, Ray and Noela are back along with Tony and Jeanette – and some new faces as we tap into the back packer work force.  It seems that many Aussies need little encouragement to live and work in the Outback!

– watch this space!

We’ll be updating this page more regularly in the future!
